Biographical info
I am an applied linguist who specializes in ethnographic and interactional discourse analytic approaches to the study of human learning and development. Using video recordings of naturalistic interactions as my primary data, I analyze participants' talk, embodiment, and use of structure in the environment. Currently, I am analyzing data from the Going APE project (headed by Joshua Gutwill of the Exploratorium). My goal is to identify and compare interactional patterns in visitor encounters with Planned Discovery exhibits and Active, Prolonged Engagement exhibits.
